Susan is President Emeritus of the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) and was its founding president in 1997. The author of three books for entrepreneurs, (Breaking Through: Creating Opportunities for America’s Women and Minority Owned Business; Partnering for Profit: Success Strategies for Tomorrow’s Supply Chain; and Yes! I Can Do That) as well as The Guide to Moving Mom, a semi-biographical how to/instructional manual for everyone who has moved from child to caregiver.. She has been extensively featured in the business press as an expert on the growth of and challenges faced by women-owned businesses.
Susan was appointed by President Reagan as chairman of the Council on Women’s Business Enterprise and by President Clinton to a term as a member of the National Women’s Business Council, and was subsequently reappointed for two additional terms by President Bush (43).
Bari earned her MBA at Virginia Tech and served as a member of its board of governors from 1998 – 2002 and on the Advisory Council to its Pamplin College of Business from 1996 - 2016. She was a member of the Board of Directors of the Women Presidents’ Organization from 2000 - 2018 and serves on the Advisory Council of Enterprising Women magazine.
Susan's most recent narrated audio books - "Understanding Behavior-The Human Effect" and "Fantastic Creatures- When handled with love," by canine behavior specialist Lynne Marie are now available on Audible.
